Josh Schectman

CPA

Josh Schectman brings something rare to the precious metals world: the rigor of a CPA paired with the access of an insider. He earned his Business degree from the University of Michigan, then moved to New York City and obtained his CPA while working in audit at PwC - a foundation in financial analysis and problem-solving that still shapes how he advises clients today. Now a Senior Broker at his family's business, Miles Franklin, Josh helps clients navigate the metals market and build long-term wealth-preservation strategies grounded in real numbers, not hype.

For TCN members, that relationship is a genuine edge. Miles Franklin is one of only 27 licensed resellers for the U.S. Mint, and Josh builds TCN a private pricing sheet every Monday - giving members discounted access to bullion the general public simply can't get at the same price. Just as importantly, he helps members think strategically about metals, including tax-loss harvesting when the market dips. For investors carrying unrealized losses alongside taxable gains elsewhere, it's an efficient way to improve after-tax returns. One of Josh's clients, for example, sold roughly 2,200 oz of silver - paying only about $4,500 - while realizing a nearly $125,000 capital loss they could put to work against other gains. That's the kind of thinking that separates simply owning metals from owning them intelligently.

Outside of work, Josh is passionate about music and plays guitar, and he gets to the slopes to ski whenever he can. He values continuous learning, meaningful relationships, and bringing both analytical thinking and a personal touch to everything he does.
